6 categories · multi-vendor · 15-year integrator
Cameras, access control, AI software, networking.
Tec-Tel installs six categories of security and connectivity products: IP cameras and surveillance, AI software and analytics, access control with badge or mobile credentials, video management software, structured cabling and networking, and business telecom. The AI software reads your camera feeds: plain-language footage search, weapons and intrusion detection, license plate recognition, occupancy and after-hours activity. We're a 15-year nationwide multi-vendor integrator that installs and tunes that layer on the cameras you already own, so each category covers every major platform. §01 How to read this hub
Buyers pick a stack, not a single product.
Security rarely comes down to one product. It's a stack: cameras, the analytics that run on them, the access control on the same operator console, and the cabling and switches under all of it. The six categories below are how we split that stack on a proposal.
We're a multi-vendor integrator, not a vendor. The full capability table lives in the vendor comparison matrix.

What we install, end to end.
Security Cameras & Surveillance
IP cameras for indoor, outdoor, and harsh-environment installs. Dome, bullet, PTZ, fisheye, multi-sensor, thermal, and LPR formats across the major platforms. We pick the platform that fits the lighting, the cabling, and the compliance posture, then handle the install end to end.
Read on Real detection, not motion alertsAI Software & Analytics
Trained ML models that classify people, vehicles, license plates, behavior, and anomalies on live camera feeds. Built-in vendor stacks plus camera-agnostic overlays that run on the cameras you already own. We size the analytics layer to the cameras that need it.
Read on Badges, mobile, biometrics, all auditableAccess Control Systems
Door controllers, readers, and credentialing for one site or hundreds. Cloud-native, hybrid, and on-prem architectures. Mobile credentials, badge, PIN, and biometric where state law allows. Centralized policy across all sites.
Read on Cloud, on-prem, federatedVideo Management Systems
VMS platforms that record, search, and federate camera feeds across sites. Open-platform enterprise, cloud-native, and mid-market options. Designed so you can switch the analytics layer without ripping out the cameras.
Read on The wiring under the AI stackStructured Cabling & Connectivity
Fiber, Cat6 and Cat6a runs, racks, patch panels, IDF and MDF buildout. We install to CommScope SYSTIMAX and Panduit standards. Most camera and access-control upgrades fall over because the cabling can't carry the new load. We test what's there, design the runs, and pull the cable so the hardware on top has the bandwidth it needs.
Read on Phones that work with the security stackTelecommunications
Hosted VoIP, SIP trunking, unified communications, and on-site PBX migration. Phones tie into the access-control and video stack so a door alarm, a panic button, or a forklift incident routes to the right person on the right device.
Read on§03 Why multi-vendor matters
We don't have one platform to push.
A vendor-tied integrator earns more on its preferred SKU, so that's what it recommends. We install across cloud-native, on-prem, and hybrid platforms from a wide range of manufacturers. That extends to the AI: we pick, install, and tune the right intelligence layer for each job from partners like Tenyks, Dragonfruit, Spot.ai, Coram, and Intenseye, not one black box. The free consultation looks at what you've already paid for, what's working, and where a different vendor saves money over the next five years.
Operators including Bridgestone, ORBIS, TreeHouse Foods, and Menasha Packaging trust Tec-Tel, alongside QSR and hospitality customers. The pattern holds: cameras, access, AI, cabling, and monitoring from one accountable provider. No refereeing between four vendors when something breaks.
Common questions about products
What buyers ask before specifying gear.
- Is Tec-Tel vendor-neutral or a single-vendor reseller?
- Multi-vendor by design. We install and integrate across the major camera, access control, VMS, and AI-overlay platforms and recommend by site fit, not by margin. The consultation names which vendors fit each site and why.
- Do you sell products, or only integrate them?
- Both. We sell, install, configure, integrate, and support every product on the site. Single-source contracting means one PO, one warranty path, one project manager, one number to call when something breaks.
- What is NDAA compliance and do you handle it?
- NDAA Section 889 bars federal-funded buyers (and many compliance-bound private buyers) from using cameras or networking gear on the FCC Covered List. We standardize on NDAA-compliant products by default and document the BOM with serial numbers for federal, education, healthcare, and government work.
- Can I keep my existing cameras and just add AI?
- Usually yes. Camera-agnostic AI overlays run on cameras you already own, including older equipment, as long as resolution and framerate clear a basic threshold. The full platform breakdown lives in the vendor comparison matrix.
- Do you do structured cabling and networking too?
- Yes. Cabling, network drops, switches, and structured wiring are part of the same project, not a separate vendor. CommScope and Panduit material standards where the site requires them.
